The scary thing about the Hate Crimes law is that it criminalize thoughts. The charges are based on what the person was thinking when he committed the crime. This is the first step down a dangerous road where someone will eventually be locked away on death row, convicted of murder, because he simply mumbled under his breath, "I'll kill you."

Remember the movie "Minority Report" with Tom Cruise? The plot was that the police were able to charge and convict people before the crime was committed based on the person's thoughts.... that's what this world will turn into now that we have a law on the books that can levee a specific conviction based on a persons thought.

Sweet post, Jake. I like how you came at this from two separate sides and proved that frat brothers are getting a bad rap for no apparent reason than for the Hollywood actors to get a quick buck on a screen print movie. Keep up the good work, but if you want to appear to more readers, try to break it up a little more, condense the wall of text to look more like a blog you can reach anyone with, this kind of feels like a college paper =)

You are right. Prohibition did not work.

When will the US realize that if drugs were legalized a lot of the problems would go away and it would be another form of taxes that the government could control.

Personally, I think that everyone should give USA their nukes. I mean, Obama is to scared to press the button to use them anyways, so I'm thinking that makes here in the good 'ole states the safest place for 'em.

Just to clarify, I'm sure there are legitimate reasons why people don't have a job, and in these instances I can see an argument for government healthcare. Although, there probably is a better way than to fork over a little control to the government, but I haven't thought of it yet.
